What to expect from Microblading your eyebrows.

Perfectly shaped eyebrows are not an easy feat—either you over pluck to the point of no return (or no eyebrows) or you just accept the genetics that God has given you a pair of mismatched ones What we tell our clients at our office is, that eyebrows are sisters, not twins! We firmly believe that no amount of tweezing can ever fix. However, to better get a fuller appearence and a more aligned eyebrows shape, then consider Microblading. Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo that employs real brush strokes for a truly hair-like appearance that can help give you the best eyebrows for your face shape. The semi-permanent tat only lasts for one to three years, max, but the average is closer to a year and a half. Estheticians use a small bladed hand tool made up of tiny needles that gives the artist precision when hand-drawing the strokes on to (and, essentially, into) your skin. Unlike regular tattooing, the ink from microblading fades away with time because it doesn't penetrate the skin as deeply. The actual microblading typically takes no longer than 30 minutes depending on how thick or sparse your eyebrows are. Once your new brows are complete, you'll return for a perfecting session (fine tuning the color or adding dimension) one to three months later, which gives your skin ample time to properly heal. In fact, most people come in at least a year later for another touch-up to maintain their color and strokes. Below our some examples from our clients and Atlanta Microblading Service.

Before you consider microblading, and choosing your microblader, please do your research and do not let just anyone cut into your skin. We humbly ask you to consider reading our Facebook reviews and giving us a call at 404-860-1671 to ask and answer any concerns or questions about this practice. Why everyone is raving about this beauty treatment?

Micro-Needling/Derma-Rolling Atlanta

First off, this procedure is known under many names like Collagen Rejuvenation Therapy, Micro-needling or Derma Rolling but it all does the same thing, which would be to bring new life back into your skin!

Secondly, although the idea of sticking millions of tiny needles into your skin doesn't sound the most appealing to some, I promise you the results are MORE than worth it. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Jolie all attest to its greatness! I mean, how else do you think they look like a walking, Instagram photo everywhere they go?

But, What Exactly is it?

Clinical trials have demonstrated that Micro-needling/Derma-Rolling activate the body's natural wound healing process with the usage of needles, this then helps to excite the fibroblasts in the skin tissue to produce new collagen and help speed up elastin production to repair the skin. By doing this, you are left with smoother, healthier, and younger-looking skin that everyone will take notice of and melt with envy over! It's truly amazing what a bunch of little needles can help to accomplish but, what's more, it's all non-surgical, non-invasive, laser-free, and chemical-free meaning it's the most organic way to achieving Skin Rejuvenation with little to zero downtime needed. Not to mention that this is a much cheaper and affordable option than your conventional Fraxel or fractional laser treatments.

What makes for the ideal candidate for such a procedure?

I've got great news for you, EVERYONE is an ideal candidate. This is safe for all skin types, ethnic or not, young or old, anybody can get flawless skin! Those who suffer from aging skin, sagging skin, wrinkles, acne scars, hyperpigmentation enlarged pores, and stretch marks can start seeing immediate results as soon as the first treatment. Micro-needling/ Derma-Rolling also helps to improve skin texture while also firming and tightening. It's so quick and easy that you could do it on your lunch break because of it's little to zero downtime, and still fit in time for a quick latte run to the nearest cafe before heading back to the office!

Your permanent makeup questions answered!

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup is cosmetic tattooing that results in beautiful, natural-looking results. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as “micro pigmentation.” It is implanting pigment into the dermis layer of the skin with a special machine designed for medical tattoo work. The process includes a consultation, an initial session, and a perfecting session. Contact us to get started today!

Who Gets Permanent Makeup?

The benefits of permanent cosmetics can be very liberating. Permanent Makeup and Tattooing can be especially valuable to people who have allergies and skin sensitivities to makeup; athletic people who want their makeup to stand up to a workout and busy people who don’t have time to fuss with their makeup. It is very convenient to wake up with makeup already perfectly applied. People who experience thinning of the brows or alopecia enjoy the results of permanent makeup. When a person’s vision is challenged they often will have difficulty applying their cosmetics. Other people may decide to use micro pigmentation who experience limitations due to health-related reasons like arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and stroke. Breast cancer survivors can have 3-dimensional areola re-pigmentation that is beautiful and natural. Our passion is to make many breast cancer survivors feel whole again.

How painful is it?

Most people experience very little discomfort but this can vary depending on each individual’s pain threshold. Topical anesthetics that are specifically developed for our industry are highly effective. Your permanent cosmetic professional should discuss these methods with you to determine which one is appropriate. Traditional tattoo professionals do not use anesthetics for their tattoo procedures. Anesthetics for permanent cosmetics however, are used because of the sensitive location of the tattoo and as an extra luxury of the beauty treatment. Contact us for a consultation and I'll make sure to ease and explain any questions or concerns you may have.

Are Permanent Cosmetics Really Permanent?

Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because the pigment is tattooed on and inside the skin. It will never wash off. However, as with any tattoo, fading can and often does occur, requiring periodic maintenance. Pigment implanted in the skin may fade with time but the longevity varies from person to person depending on sun exposure, genetic, and topical products applied to the skin. The duration of PERMANENT MAKEUP can be lengthened by avoiding the use of glycolic acids, exfoliates and antioxidants found in many beauty products. I see many of our clients every couple of years, so we'd love to be your PERMANENT MAKEUP provider for many years to come!

What am I to expect after a procedure?

Some people swell more than others but the swelling should disappear after about 3-5 days. Bruising is rare but again, especially if a person is on blood thinners, bruising could occur. If bruising does occur, typically it is minor and subsides in a few days. There is usually some tenderness for a few days.

Immediately following the procedure, the color is much darker than you may expect for the first six to ten days. It is recommended to plan your sessions around any special events or vacations. The perfecting session can be scheduled 4-6 weeks after your initial visit.

How to tighten your skin and get the "glow"

The skin is our single biggest organ and it needs to be very taken care of. As we grown older (and wiser), the elastin and collagen structure in our skin loses and diminishes its elasticity and with it, some of its self-moisturizing and repairing components. Skin aging is heightened by unhealthy activity like excessive exposure to the sun, drinking alcohol, poor diet and, unfortunately in Atlanta, pollution.

Here are five ways of caring for your skin with ingredients at home that will help you regain a youthful glow! If you're really serious about improving your glow and tightening your skin, please consider our Microneedling, skin tightening, and scar revision services here in our Atlanta Office.

Sunscreen – Your skin's biggest enemy is the sun. Excessive exposure to UV rays can cause sagging and wrinkling. Furthermore, unprotected sun exposure can potentially lead to skin cancer. To avoid this, we need sunscreen, and today more companies are offering high SPF-rated products made from either natural or organic ingredients. Apply sunscreen or SPF protective moisturizer 30 minutes before going outside to protect your skin from the scorching Georgia sun. Your skin will thank you later.

Cucumber juice – Have you seen shows where the lead actress puts cucumber slices on her eyes while she's having a makeover? Well, this actually works. Cucumbers have all-natural and completely harmless phytochemicals like cucurbitacins. These firm and tighten the outer layer of your skin by removing accumulated pockets of waste materials and chemical toxins as well as providing nourishment.

Here's how to do it: Cut a cucumber in half, then strain the juice. Take the juice and apply it over your face, leaving it to dry before rinsing it off with cold water. This works best when repeated once a day.

Aloe Vera – Known as the "plant of immortality," aloe vera not only fights aging but also acne, psoriasis, and skin eczema. Its leaves contain a plethora of antioxidants like beta-carotene and vitamins C and E, which help with the skin's firmness and hydration.

To use, take an aloe vera leaf and remove its skin. Extract the gel and spread it over your face and neck for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse with cold water. Repeat several times a week.

An alternative way of using aloe vera is making a facemask. Extract one tablespoon of aloe gel from the leaf, and add one teaspoon each of mayonnaise and honey. Mix well, then smear all over the face and leave to dry. When dry, rinse off by first using warm, then cold water. Do this once a week. This is amazing for fighting acne scars and recovery from Microneedling procedures.

Raw Egg White Mask – Raw egg white is a natural astringent that works wonders for sagging skin. Egg whites help tighten, firm and lift skin. If you want instant gratification, this is the mask to go for!

To make the mask, whisk one egg white until light and fluffy, then add one tablespoon of honey. Mix well, then apply on your face. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse off using warm, then cold water. Repeat this once a week.

Honey – Honey has been well documented as a natural healing agent since Egyptian times. It helps fade dark spots, discoloration, blemishes and age spots due to its natural enzymatic production of hydrogen peroxide. It also has antioxidants that act as anti-bacterial agents. If you are worried about having a reaction to a mask, this is the mask for you because it is extremely gentle and perfect for sensitive skin. If you want to block the hydrogen peroxide, use Manuka honey.

To make the mask, get raw honey and spread it all over your face. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm, then cold water. Repeat this several times in a week.

Cleansing and purifying with honey couldn't be easier.

Curiously, the best tools and techniques to improve and nourish your skin are easily available and completely organic. Take advantage of Mother Nature's remedies to keep your skin in tip-top condition because the earlier you start, the better. If you're really into quicker results, and more pronounced changes, please give us a call for a consultation to see if one of our skin tightening services can be right for you. We've helped hundreds of beautiful clients retain and get that youthful look you're desiring. Check out our reviews here for yourself.
